温尼泊每年有两次赠送周末的活动，分别在5月和9月。活动提倡环保和节约，鼓励人们把自己不再需要而还能用的物品拿出来，赠送给其他有需要的家庭，而不是扔到垃圾箱，白白浪费掉。

活动时间： 9月8日-9月9日

活动参与：
把闲置并且是仍可用的物品放在路边上，标记上"Free" 的字样。

Give your reusable unwanted items a new home and keep them out of the landfill!

What to do

[li]place unwanted, reusable household items at the curb on your front street[/li][li]label each item with a "FREE" (pdf - 13kb) sticker or sign[/li][li]keep any items safely tucked away that you don't want to give away[/li][li]remove leftover items from the curb by dusk on Sunday[/li]

What to give

[li]books, CDs and DVDs[/li][li]furniture and small appliances[/li][li]sports equipment and toys[/li][li]tools[/li][li]yard and gardening equipment (e.g., lawn mowers, snow throwers, rakes, shovels)[/li][li]kitchen gadgets, dishes, cutlery, pots and pans[/li][li]unwanted gifts[/li][li]construction material including drywall and hardware (e.g., nails, bolts and screws)[/li][li]electronics[/li][li]clothing[/li][li]paint[/li]

What not to give

[li]any items infested with bed bugs(e.g., mattresses, furniture, bedding)[/li][li]toilets (with a flush volume of 13 litres or more)[/li][li]visit the Consumer Product Safety Bureau to find out about items that aren't safe to give away (e.g., baby walkers, lawn darts)[/li]

Giveaway etiquette

[li]Take only the items at the curb marked "FREE".[/li][li]Respect other people's property – don't walk or drive on people's lawns or gardens.[/li][li]Giveaway items should still be in good condition.[/li][li]Don't discard any items on another person's lawn.[/li][li]Obey the traffic laws at all times (e.g., don't block traffic, park illegally or block people's driveways with your vehicle) and watch out for children.[/li]

What to do with leftover items

[li]Consider donating unwanted items to:Canadian Diabetes Association (clothing only)[/li][li]Goodwill Industries[/li][li]Salvation ArmyThrift Stores (during business hours)[/li][li]Donation Centres[/li][li]warehouse located at 25 Furniture Park Road (off Gateway)[/li][li]pick up of large items (i.e. furniture) by calling 1-800-PLS-GIVE (1-800-757-4483)[/li]

Local community gifting groups dedicated to keeping still useful items out of the landfill by offering them (free of charge) to others who are able to use them:

Bulky items (e.g., furniture, mattresses) left at the curb will not be picked up with regular garbage collection. Contact 311 to arrange for special collection. A charge may apply.Leftover construction / renovation material will not be picked up with regular garbage collection. Please take it to a landfill.
