II. PROGRAM INFORMATION
It is important to know that the new National Program is significantly different than the Pilot Program. For example, under the National Program, students are now responsible for more aspects of their application and for ensuring that they comply with the conditions of their Work Permit. They must complete and submit their application to the Case Processing Centre in Vegreville. The Off-Campus Work Permit Coordinator / Designated Institutional Representative (Gitan Armour) will NOT notify students who no longer meet the academic eligibility for the Program to inform them that they must surrender their Work Permit. Therefore, it is the students' responsibility to surrender their Work Permit if they have become ineligible for the program.
Students will be expected to read all Off-Campus Work Permit application materials published by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and the U of M BEFORE meeting with Gitan. After reading all program materials, it is the student's responsibility to ask Gitan for clarification about any information contained in the program materials that they do not understand. All program documents are available on-line as listed below. Students must bring a completed Off-Campus Work Permit Program - Verification Form [IMM 5581] to their appointment.
III. PROGRAM DOCUMENTS AND MATERIALS
Students are responsible for printing their application materials.
The following documents are available on the Citizenship and Immigration Canada web site (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/applications/work-students.html):

Failure to comply with the Pilot Project conditions may result in being reported as non-compliant and may affect future Work Permit applications. Students wishing to take advantage of the benefits offered under the national program must apply for a new National Program Off-Campus Work Permit.
